| Hi! My name is Sapira I have a lot of experience working with people with a range of abilities, both on the physical and cognitive spectrum. Though I am 21 years old, I have done disability work my entire life both as a volunteer and in paid positions. Most of my time has been spent with people from 5 months to 35, but I have also worked with seniors. I follow the social approach and method that focuses on maximal integration and ability focused. I worked at a sleepaway camp in BC for people with a range of abilities, and though I am not a licenced PSW, I was formally trained in many of the skills required to work with a group of individuals with various needs. In the past, I also have worked in spaces with a medical understanding and approach to disability. While I understand that philosophy profoundly, I have preferred to shift my focus on a model based on positive-reinforcement and behavioral support.

Hi there, my name is Petra and I've recently arrived in this wonderful city from Australia. I have extensive experience providing care for people living with disabilities and the elderly and am passionate about the need for support services that are person-centered, and help individuals to maintain their own independence to the greatest extent possible. Specific skills I've garnered through my vocational experience include bowel and bladder care, medication assistance, community access support, epilepsy awareness, stoma care, personal care and companionship. I am of a naturally positive disposition, emotionally intuitive, and physically fit and capable. I'd love to hear from you!

| I’ve been working with special needs children and adults for over 15 years. In 1996, I’ve open my own foster home where I had the responsibility of 5 young women with special needs (cognitive delay). From teaching them how to help in the preparation of meals, doing the laundry, cleaning, personal hygiene to building programs and activities promoting the integration in society. I am also a yoga teacher since 1990 specializing in special needs clientele (children and adults). I’ve been certified as a Special Needs Yoga Teacher and also certified as a Accessible Yoga Teacher. I also just received my certification as a massage therapist in reflexology.
