Hi there! My name is Leah. I am a 26 year old McGill student in my last semester of university.
I have quite a bit of experience working in the realm of assisted living and home care for people with developmental delays, addiction, and physical ailments. At Dengarry Professional Services Ltd. in Quesnel, British Columbia, I worked as a Home Support Worker. This work included personal care, entertainment, medication management, overnight work, and respite. I left the job because I moved back to Montreal for school but maintained great relationships with the management, clients, and co-workers there and would be happy to provide a reference.
I also have experience working with children as a Youth Care Worker at Axis Family Resources, in Quesnel, BC. As a Youth Care Worker I had a caseload which required me to work with a wide demographic of people, from foster children to women struggling with single parenthood. I supported my clients to set goals for themselves and helped them work towards these goals, whether this was to make a grocery list for the next week or to complete their high school education.
I am a high-energy girl who laughs easily. I pride myself on my empathy and listening skills. I'm also adventurous, and have spent a lot of my life traveling around the world. My most recent trip was a year spent in Africa and the Middle East. I have a good sense of humour, and tend to make strong connections with my clients. Please let me know if you have other questions!
