Hi, We are having a long weekend away - for the first time without our kids! So I am looking for someone to come and 'just be around' for the weekend and 3 school days. You would not need to be there 24/7 and certainly no need to be around during the days on the weekends or school hours, but we'd prefer someone willing to stay overnight to be there before school and help with getting lunches organised and a lift to the train station and back in the afternoon to help with dinner prep and, particularly as company for our 11 year old before her siblings get home. They are all pretty self sufficient, but also busy, and I know they would appreciate help with making school lunches, dinner and making sure the dog gets fed (the cat won't let anyone get away without feeding him! ) and just generally keeping the house running smoothly. We're looking for someone who is kind, practical, has their drivers license (you are welcome to use my car) and doesn't mind having a dog and cat to keep an eye on too. She is in her second year of preschool, we are a Steiner/Waldorf family, so we do not allow screen time - no IPhone, IPad, TV etc. We do not want our babysitter to frequently use their phone while at work, only for emergencies and work related communication. The ideal babysitter is mature (mid twenties or older) educated (BA or Diploma in early childhood, child psychology etc) & experienced (min 5 years) with a calm, steady approach. We don't want over-stimulating, noisy style play. Active outdoor play is fine. We need someone who is competent in the kitchen as our daughter eats fresh healthy home made food at each meal. Our daughter doesn't graze/snack. She eats 3 meals a day, then a snack mid afternoon. No treats throughout the day. Duties involve: Indoor & outdoor play. No screens. Lunch & dinner prep & clean up. Evening bath, teeth, read stories & put to bed (she is an easy sleeper, good at self soothing) Prepare simple healthy meals Light housework includes: do the family dishes fold family laundry (4yo will help, she loves this) organize and tidy toys and books. We live very close walking distance (a few houses) from a playground & have a backyard where you can water some plants in the garden, do some weeding (she loves this) or do arts and crafts. We are a no perfume house as I am chemically sensitive, get headaches and my eyes burn. Someone working in our house needs to be comfortable not wearing any perfume or heavily perfumed makeup and hair sprays. Sorry. We are a no shoes house. You can wear slippers in the house if your feet get cold, we all do, but no street shoes inside the house. We would like someone who is experienced with preschool aged children, has their own car (we have a spare car seat for when you want to take small excursions).
