My daycare facility is located in Beach Park - serving Gurnee, Waukegan, and Zion as well as surrounding areas.
My establishment has been operating since March of 1988.
I have experience in a variety of health issues from allergies, ADHD, and dyslexia to asthma.
Being loving and showing affection is necessary for a child's self esteem.
It's a very rewarding experience to be able to teach a child and watch them grow and develop their own personalities.
I provide hands-on educational curriculum to students, 4 weeks to 12 years, as well as opportunities to grow socially and emotionally. I know how important development is. A child needs to interact with other children and adults to learn basic skills. Small motor skills are important for babies and children such as playing, reading, etc. Role playing is vital for growth in development.
Inside, they will have access to fun and educational toys, board games, free time, reading material and many arts and crafts materials.
Outside, they will have access to a full fenced in backyard which includes swings, a slide.
As a Childcare Educator, I prepare my pre-schoolers for kindergarten teaching them the requirements to be ready for Kindergarten. Examples are letters, numbers, shapes. They are also taught social and learning skills and are encouraged to participate and engage in activities as well as independent play.
I provide a safe, loving, and worry-free environment.
I offer transportation to school age children to Beach Park Schools - District 3, Zion Schools - District 6, Waukegan Schools (District 60) depending on locations and start times, Schools District 50 depending on distance and start times.
We celebrate birthdays and have parties for the holidays as well.

We have just started daycare with Ms. Jan for my infant and I am so happy knowing he is in her hands while I am at work. She has done an excellent job making me feel at ease and I know my little guy is happy and well loved when he is there.

Such a wonderful woman. My children and I adore Jan. She creates a very homey atmosphere and provides excellent care to my 9 and 7 year old. She prioritizes safety and the happiness of the kids, which I feel like is a great outlook. She is funny and very understanding. She does her best to work with parents and finds the best way to truly understand each child to give a personalized approach for each kid. We love her and are so happy to see her everyday! Thank you Jan for being so wonderful!!!

Jan is the forst daycare my daughters have attended. They were watched by grandma for 3-4 years. Jan welcomed us and then and it immediately made us feel at home. She was very open and didn't try rushing us out of her daycare. The girls instantly thought of her as grandma and they look forward to going to Ms Jans every morning. I would not hesitate to bring my kids here!

Ms. Jan is very passionate about her job . She is great all around ! She's very understanding and will go far and beyond for people . I am active duty and my hours are all over the place . Ms. Jan always reassures me that my son is taken care of. She has not only help me with care for my son while I work , she gives great advice for single parents and first time dog owners . She has been really helpful . Her prices are very reasonable as well .

This daycare is this woman passion. She works with you as if she's your mother. Always pushing you in the right track. My daughter just loves this daycare and have met many new friends. She also have small puppies that she allows designated playtime with the children when they are not doing homework or activities. Love this daycare and I think my daughter will stay until she grows out the program

My daughter has just started attending Ms. Jan's daycare and I am already loving it. She is so nice and understanding and always keeps me updated on my daughter, which I appreciate because this is my daughter's first timein daycare.

Our two children have been attending Jan's Daycare for a week. Our oldest already loves it there and says he "can't wait to get to Ms. Jan's house" every morning. Jan is kind and flexible and works hard to help parents feel comfortable. She sends pictures and updates throughout the day to let us know how they are doing. She is attentive to their moods, how much they eat, sleep, play, etc. and records everything for us to see at the end of the day. She works closely with parents to work out the best arrangement for each child, and children respond well to her manner which is both lighthearted and strict at the same time. She has years of experience, which is reassuring to us. So far we are very happy with our experience at Jan's Daycare and would readily recommend it to others.

Ms. Jan is and extremely nice and helpful woman. She has gone above and beyond helping me get my child care set up and reassuring me that everything will work out and be okay. she knows exactly what she is doing and I have no doubts in my mind. My children are comfortable, happy, and well taken care of. I'm so happy that I have found her, she is the best !!

We are extremely happy with Jan's wonderful daycare! Our 8 month old son is so happy every day when we pick him up, and laughs as soon as he sees Jan's face! She is wonderful, knowledgeable, and works with us on introducing new foods, accommodating our half formula half milk feedings, and making our little guy very happy! Would definitely recommend!

We were in search of early morning care for a 1 year old and a challenging almost 4 year old. Miss Jan stepped in and saved us. She is knowledgeable and caring.
Miss Jan makes sure you are informed throughout the day of what is occurring with your children. For us she is a lifesaver. We have also noticed positive changes in our toddler.

Jan's Daycare has been a wonderful place for our son to attend. Jan is sweet, attentive, and sensitive to our very shy 18 month old and us, as first time parents. Jan communicates with us through texts and pictures of how our son is doing throughout the day. She is very accommodating with our sometimes crazy work schedules. It's obvious she has been caring for children for a long time. Although our son only attends 2 days a week, we would feel very comfortable enrolling him full time should the need ever arise.

Im a mother of 2 getting back into the swing of working a full time job. The thought of my littles being in a daycare is worrying just like any other parent would go thru. Jan has made those worries go away. It's a home feeling walking in the door. So organized and she even does a note with every kid about what they did that day or ate . She sincerely really cares about the kids and that is just the up most wonderful feeling. I highly recommend!

Amazing! We have been looking everywhere for a good daycare that wasn't an arm and a leg that felt like home. This is that place. She is amazing! My son is picky about food what child isn't. Ms. Jan gets him to eat things I could not even dream he would eat! I also love the notes we get every day about how he was that day. I'm very happy with this daycare.

I am new to the area. I come from Indiana and I was very worried that I wouldn't be able to find my child the care he needs as he is 7 and I need care late into the night and most places I found said children up to 6 and they closed pretty early for me. I found Jan and she has been a great help even with the fact that my son has ADHD she has offered much support as she has experience with it as well. She is helping me get through the battles and struggles of figuring out what to do and how to go about it as his diagnosis is very new.

My wife and I picked Jan's Day Care for our three-month-old for multiple reasons. Jan is very accommodating to both us based on our availabilities to drop off and pick up based on work and life issues. Within a few short days of our little girl staying with Jan there was an immediate bond between the two of them and seemed like a grandmother/granddaughter relationship. Additionally, Jan is not simply a babysitter as she makes notes of her changes in mood and/or bodily functions to alert us of things that might need our attention or attention of her pediatrician. She provides all these services for a reasonable price for all of the needs it takes to take care for an infant.

Jan has made me feel comfortable since the day I met her. She is kind and accommodating and greets you with a smile whenever you come or go. I was really nervous about leaving my 2 year old at a daycare but on my daughters first day Jan eased my anxiety by sending me a picture of my child every few hours with a message on what and how she was doing. It gave me a real piece of mind while I was at work. And when I came to pick her up she gave me a daily log of my child's activities throughout the day. I love knowing what my toddler was up too.
I thought I would never be able to find a place that would fit in with my chaotic work schedule but I did. As a parent having to work on weekends it is extremely helpful that Jans hours are so flexible. They can't be beat!!
The environment is great, the rates are amazing & my child has a great time. There's no place better then this one!!

GREAT environment, GREAT rates . She is conveniently located, has a schedule for the kids to do activities throughout the day. Provides meals and snacks, has assistants to help her throughout the day, as well as offers before and after school care. Her hours are the most flexible you will find.
She watches my youngest child, he has never been with a sitter or daycare environment, and she really put in that extra work to make sure that not only my son adjusted to this new change, but made sure that I am comfortable as well. The first week she provided me with texts and pictures to help ease my anxiety.

Always challenging to find a daycare so accomodating and offering available times for childcare like no other nights days early mornings and weekend's. Jan's experience, knowlwdge and genuine concern for each child and parent is rare. At a rate lower in comparison to 5 others I researched. So blessed to have found Jan.

Jan has eased my nerves about putting my daughter in daycare. She is so welcoming and makes sure you know what kind of day your child had at daycare. She is very easy to work with has amazing rates and is amazing to my little 1 year old. I would recommend her to anyone I know.

I was having a really hard time with the thought of having to bring my 3 month old daughter to daycare. After doing some research my husband and I came across her page and saw nothing but 5 star reviews so I called her and we scheduled a day to meet. Her room is always very clean, and although my daughter isn't old enough yet there are plenty of activities for older kids to do. Jan is very friendly and approachable and is accommodating to any request you might have in regards to your child's care. For anyone who is like me and is having a hard time finding a great daycare for their child, look no further because she is absolutely wonderful. Dropping her off in the morning is still hard for me, but it's comforting knowing she is in great hands. Every morning she sends me a text to let me know how she's doing and I even get pictures of my daughter while I'm at work!

I was in a bind to find childcare for my son. We were moving from Ohio to Illinois, and it was hard to find anyone with openings or that I was able to to short notice visits with. Jan was able to meet with me on a weekend to talk over the contract and work out details. Jan's daycare has been a wonderful experience. My 3 year old can be a be a bit of a handful, but he has adjusted so well. Every day when I pick up my child I am given a daily report of everything he has had to eat, what time he took his nap, and what his behavior was like.

Jan has been an absolute blessing to me and my family. When I thought it would be almost impossible to find child care that has flexible hours, I found Jan's daycare! She's even open saturdays! She is amazing and goes out of her way to help in any possible way. My kids love going to Jan's daycare!

I posted on care.com a about a week ago needing care for my daughter. I don't work the conventional 9-5 hours and this has made it almost impossible for me to find a center or even a nanny that I could afford. In a moment of desperation I posted on here and a few days later Jan contacted me. She was very friendly and stuck out amongst all of the other people sending me messages. I spoke with Jan a few times over the phone and she texted me as well. I met with her and brought my daughter who immediately fell in love. Relocating has been stressful but Jan was there and made this transition the easiest I've had since I started moving. I'm very glad to have found her. She is amazingly flexible and very caring. Thank you Jan!

Jan is so nice and so accommodating! She is flexible with times for drop-off and pick-up and she even transports to/from school, which NO ONE does! My son didn't want to leave and felt comfortable right away at Ms. Jan's house. Her rates are lower than any other daycare provider in the area and I am thrilled that we found her!

Excellent in-home facility with a fully-stocked, dedicated space. Jan fosters an excellent relationship with families and is extremely communicative. She works with children on socialization & pre-early childhood education goals. Very flexible & understanding.

My son loves Ms Jan:) I would highly recommend Jans Daycare service. She has flexible hours and is very affordable. Her home is always clean and the kids are always happy:) in the beginging when I was looking for a daycare service as I was returning to work for the first time after having my son, I was a mess and so stressed and discouraged after visiting all the daycare facilities in the wadsworth gurnee area, not only with how expensive they where but the way they where run. it seemed each one I visited the kids where always sick or crying or messy and it seemed like everything was either disorganized or the staff was overwelmed and the kids where running a muck!!! Then I stopped by Mrs Jans:))) Right away i was comfortable and my son instantly bonded with her. Its like taking your child to your moms house for the day and not a daycare my son has never complained or threw a fit when i have to leave him and he has so much fun playing with the other kids. I wouldnt imagine taking him anywhere else.

I truly consider it a blessing to have found Jan's Daycare in my time of need for immediate child care services for my granddaughter. Jan has a nurturing spirit which is vital in building individual self-esteem. We have extensive evidence throughout the years that quality nurturing at an early has consistently been an essential element in developing strong individuals with high morals and the ability to function well is society. These are important building blocks to an individual's character. Jan has genuine concern for children and it comes through in her actions. Jan is so wonderful to my daughter who is a year old. She always keeps me informed if my daughter isn't feeling quite right and makes sure I'm not worried while I'm away. She gives daily reports on what my daughter ate/drank, when she napped, how she felt throughout the day (happy, irritated, chatty, etc.) which I adore! It's obvious she puts a lot of attention and care into every child by doing this. My daughter has also learned a lot in the short period of time that she's been attending Jan's Daycare. Jan not only makes your child feel safe and comfortable, she makes you feel comfortable with her inviting personality. I highly recommend!

Jan is wonderful with our almost 2 year old daughter! In just a few short days of being with her, our daughter was talking a lot more and learning so many new things. Jan is also incredibly accommodating to our ever changing schedule. She has always been willing to work with us. I love getting the daily reports of how our daughter did, what she ate, and any other fun notes! Jan is wonderful!
