History of Fair Oaks: Fair Oaks Day School was established in 1987. The school has been privately owned and operated since its inception. The owner, Tina Green, takes an active role in the daily supervision and operation of Fair Oaks Day School. Philosophy: Respect for children as individuals is the basis of our philosophy. This principle is reflected in the choice of curriculum, our choices in extra-curricular activities, and in the way we treat each other. A sincere love of learning is also shared among the Fair Oaks community. Reasonably priced compared to other schools in the area. Student-to-teacher ratio is a little high. Teachers are mostly respectful. The look of the school is a little run down/stuck in the 90's, but efficient and clean. Nice play area in each of the rooms, and a fenced in playground. Reasonable drop-off/pick-up hours. Towards the end of the day, you can hear that some of the teachers are tired and grumpy because you can hear them yelling through the classroom doors. They provide snacks and meals to the children throughout the day.
Would like to see better parent access by having an online portal to make payments, see classroom updates, or even receive pictures of our kids throughout the day. Parents do receive daily reports, but they are limited to whether or not the child ate, slept, and a small comment about the child. It does not include what the child ate, if the child was changed, or behavior throughout the day (as most other daycare daily sheets provide).
Overall, it is a good school, but has room for improvement.
