About the business
ABC Learning Center is a Childcare, Pre-School and Pre K readiness program offering affordable child care services. Our Learning Center programs are guided by educational professionals in a nurturing environment. We use a hands-on approach to learning that involves the child in a rich and diverse group of activities. Our child care center accommodates working parents and is a family based center child care. Meaning everyone here is family and our centers environment gives children the feeling of family, education and safety.
Infant:
Our curriculum is developed to work with each infant individually on each skill set, at their pace, to encourage continued growth and development. We will begin transitioning your infant to our Toddler program at 11 months. When we have reached that time, we will notify you with a transition letter, which will include the details of how our transition will work, to make the transition for both you and your infant enjoyable and successful.
Toddler:
At our center, we strongly encourage the children to learn independent skills, but we are always there to lend a helping hand. Development of crucial skills such as zipping up their jacket, putting on their shoes, and washing their hands are practiced daily. Each child is different, but we typically begin the potty training process anywhere between 18-24 months and we ask that parent supply extra underwear and cloths. We always keep you updated on your child's progress, and try to build the best communication between the parent and teacher.
Preschool/PreK:
We continue to work on recognizing letters, numbers, shapes, and colors, however we no longer review them alphabetically or numerically, we now recognize them by site. We will be able to identify shapes, count from 1 to 20, compare and classify objects. We will work both independently and in group activities.
Social and emotional growth is amazing as they prepare to move on to their next school experience. We continue to offer Learning Center experience and our teacher directive curriculum becomes more structured, to allow projects that can extend over days. With teacher directive projects, the curriculum challenges the students to find answers, problem solve and use the learning centers to continue with hands on experiences in areas of literacy, math and science.
School Age:
Our School Age Program is an extension of our other program descriptions. We continue to offer Learning Center opportunities, for the School Agers.
