I earned an EMT-B in 2001 from Flint Hills Technical College while simultaneously attending Emporia State University as a non-traditional student. Later, in 2009 I gained my Certified Nurses Aid, Certified Medication Aide while working full time at a senior care center and a rehabilitation center. I've put furthering my own formal education temporarily on hold for now to concentrate on my child's graduation next year. Working as a caregiver has been a great fit for my personality and schedule. While working in two full time nursing and rehabilitation facilities I gained invaluable insight and experience for my future educational goals. My last employer provided services individuals and families with a variety of needs. I have had the pleasure of caring for the elderly, developmentally and/or physically challenged as well as made lifelong friends in the process. I look forward to the opportunity to continue in this field.

I graduated from Emporia State University in December of 2010 with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. I also graduated in 2014 from Pittsburgh State University with a masters degree in educational technology. I am finishing up my 10th year of teaching and have experience teaching grades 3-6. I have been around animals all my life and when I was growing up, we only bought one dog. After that, we took in strays that would wonder helplessly onto our front lawn. I became very attached to each one of the dogs. I truly enjoy knowing that I am making an animal's life better! Back in Emporia, I used to work as a volunteer for the animal shelter. I would volunteer in between my class schedule. I love working with all the pets who needed our services! After moving to Wichita three years ago, my husband and I were given a 6-week-old puppy, we named Cola. He is now 3 and is one of the biggest parts of our small home. We also have an 1-year-old cat and the two of them are best friends! I really wasn't sure if we could raise a puppy, but Cola has one of the best personalities (so does the cat!), and I know hard work, love, and daily care was the biggest part of that. For my college internship, I worked one summer at the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville. I had the pleasure of working with baby farm animals and a few of us were responsible for the petting zoo. I was taught how to bottle feed baby pigs, goats, lambs and cows. It's crazy thinking how wonderful it felt to wake up at 6:30 every morning to go bottle feed our babies. I was not raised on a farm, but I loved every minute of it during that summer! Besides working at the animal shelter in Emporia, that was one of the best learning experiences I've had! I look forward to the opportunity of getting to have more wonderful experiences in providing pet care! NOTE: I am not certified in pet training, but, I have taught my dog Cola to; sit, "High 5", lay down, shake, come, and stay. I use sign language for "stay" and he knows that well! However, every pet owner has their own ways of training that they are comfortable with. Therefore, if you have already began this process, I would enjoy learning and teaching your pet(s) the skills needed! It would be best to meet a few days in advance so we can go over everything. Hello! I'm Cheyenne. I have a little one of my own and another on the way. Prior to having my own babies, I lived with a friend when she had two of her babies and nannied for her as well as babysat since I was 14. I have lots of experience with different ages of kiddos. I'm comfortable around pets. I can cook for your kiddos as well. If you're needing transportation for them, I can provide that.

I have a grown child who currently goest to k-state. I use to drive a school bus kids ranged from pre-k to high school. The kids and I got along great. Just wanted something more on my time schedule.

I have work in the healthcare industry for more than 10 years. I officially became a health care aide four years ago. I am a person who goes beyond what duty calls for. I'm very good in emergency situations of any kind. I have done a multitude of different things depending on what the client needs. I have gone to the hospital with clients and acted as a patient advocate for them. I have been a companion at bedside so that the client is not alone. I have gone to rehab with clients and or taking them to rehab to get back on their feet. I have worked with seniors and children as well as mentally and physically handicapped people. I'm very good with finding out what a client needs and providing the best care for them whether they are verbal or non-verbal clients. My preference is to work the night shifts and or weekend shifts because I find that is when you most have emergencies and you need someone competent and calm in a crisis and that someone is me.
