I highly recommend Pipestone Place Assisted Living for seniors experiencing moderate to advanced dementia. My mother received outstanding care from Samuel Vesa and the entire Pipestone Place team. Everyone involved in her care there was focused on making her comfortable. She was consistently treated with care, dignity, and respect.

I especially appreciated the sense of teamwork and community visible among the staff. When arriving to visit my mom, I often found her in conversation with one of the cooks, caregivers, or activity leaders. I loved that each staff member, regardless of position, actively engaged with my mom, helped her with phone calls, and truly connected with her. She felt loved and accepted. She especially enjoyed being able to spend time in the kitchen and dining area; she felt very comfortable, welcome, and at home there. There was very little turnover in staff; my mom connected with and actually remembered the names of one of the cooks and several caregivers, which was surprising, given her battle with dementia.

My mom really enjoyed the activities offered at Pipestone Place. The activities director, Yvonne, is very positive, encouraging, and creative. She and the other staff members leading activities meet and engage with each resident at his or her current level of function. My mom was always welcomed and encouraged to participate in activities, even as her level of function declined. I appreciated that efforts were made to take residents outside into the courtyard during good weather. We always enjoyed visiting with my mom in the courtyard where beautiful flowers bloomed during most seasons of the year.

Communication is a priority at Pipestone Place. Caregivers consistently work to communicate kindly and effectively with all residents. My mom repeatedly mentioned that she appreciated how attentive caregivers were to her wants and needs. They were particularly good about helping her to make and accept phone calls from friends and family. I personally appreciated the excellent communication I received from Samuel and the caregivers in regards to my mother's health. Caregivers were very conscientious in providing updates on my mom's condition, which varied erratically toward the end or her life. I am especially thankful for Samuel's continuous willingness to engage in honest, detailed discussions regarding my mom's health.

Samuel and the caregivers are truly committed to ensuring that each resident receives the most appropriate and best possible medical care. They communicate exceptionally well with visiting medical staff, therapists, home health, and hospice providers. I especially appreciated their dedication to keeping the facility clean and safe. The staff were very careful to enforce hygiene standards; they kindly but firmly encouraged visitors to comply with COVID precautions. One of my biggest pandemic fears was exposing my mother to the virus; I am happy to say that she never contracted COVID or any other communicable disease while at Pipestone Place.

God bless Samuel and the amazing, caring staff at Pipestone Place Assisted Living.
