We are seeking an experienced, warm and caring tutor/childminder to support our 6-year-old son, starting immediately. The role is based in our home in Dublin 1, near the 3Arena, and will involve working weekdays from approximately 13:45 to 17:45. Although not a necessity, during school holidays we would ideally like someone who is available for the full day, maybe 09:00 to 17:30, at least for some days in the holiday periods. Our son is autistic and commenced senior infants last September. He attends a special class within a mainstream primary school and he has commenced transition to a mainstream class. His school day runs from 08:50 to 13:30, and he typically arrives home around 13:45. At least one parent will be working from home every day and will be available to provide guidance or support as required. Our little boy is generally quite content and is becoming increasingly flexible in his activities, although he can be temperamental at times, in particular when he’s sick and sometimes during the winter months. He enjoys outings, including travelling on buses, trams and trains. A typical afternoon might include playtime, developmental activities, light homework, time at an afterschool group or a visit to a playground (or a shopping centre on rainy/winter days). Physical activities may involve walking, cycling or scooting. Applicants will need to have experience working with children, ideally having spent some time working with autistic children. A relevant qualification such as in Teaching, Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Early Childhood Education, or as a Special Needs Assistant (SNA) is essential. Applicants should have a good standard of spoken and written English. Applicants would ideally be well connected with other childminders in Dublin so as to organise play groups in playgrounds and other locations. Our son has special interests that he likes to discuss in detail so we are looking for someone who engages very well with children and is creative in developing the conversations, including to transition to other topics. Our son responds very well to people who are positive, enthusiastic and energetic, so that is a key requirement, helping to keep our son well regulated. The role includes all statutory entitlements (annual leave, sick pay, etc.), and we offer very competitive rates, including an annual bonus, depending on the level of experience.

We also need assistant in prepping his lunch, just simple microwave that's all. The school opens 8.45 - 1:30 Monday to Friday. This is for a short period hopefully he’d start concentrating in class, we can see a lot of improvement since we started. Thank you
