I have been helping others leaning Physics since high-school, especially after starting my Physics undergraduate course in Oxford. Now I am doing my physics teacher training at Strathclyde University. My experience is, that the most important in learning is finding a solid starting point to build on, but the way to develop changes from person to person. Coming from Hungary, I am also familiar with an education system completely different from the UK, and I think mixing the two can often be more effective than strictly following one way another. (Of course the goals are set within the UK system, just the path can divert a bit.)

I've worked with students from age 7 to 18 professionally, and have informally tutored university students for over three years. I've studied both Engineering and English Literature, so I have a strong background in a variety of subjects (including English/reading/writing, chemistry, physics, biology, and mathematics) and have helped students with everything from basic arithmetic to complex essays and calculus. I work best one-on-one, when I'm able to give students my undivided attention, but I can also handle small groups. I focus on making sure students understand the "why" of their assignments, so the help I give builds their problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. It's about finding the right answer, but also about building the process for getting that answer. It's about writing a strong paper, but also about learning what makes it a strong paper.
