My childcare experience to date includes working for a museum in Panama as part of an educational outreach programme. Our task was to highlight the plight of the endangered Golden Frog with children aged between six and fourteen years old. I managed groups of up to thirty children at a time. Whilst in Panama I also worked in a school with children aged between two and six. Although the children spoke no English we developed an excellent rapport by communicating through music, games, art and mime. I have also spent much time babysitting children from newborns to 15 year olds and have a qualification in first aid from St Johns Ambulance. As well as this I also spent many weeks working for three hours each week assisting and observing at the preparatory school attached to my senior school. Here I learned the value of involving and treating each child as an individual, establishing their own method of learning such as visual and aural and that good teaching and pastoral care can build confidence and inspire. I have GCSEs in Mathematics, English Literature, English Language, History, Religious Studies, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Art, as well as A Levels in English Literature, History and Economics. In 2013 I achieved a distinction in my LAMDA Acting Solo Grade 8, I have also recently been awarded my Gold Award Duke of Edinburgh. I, therefore, have a wide range of interest and abilities and enjoy working with children. I am presently training at university to achieve my teaching qualification and would love to work with children this summer tutoring them.
