Fun Bilingual Cambridge PhD Student and Teacher with Cross-Cultural and International Experience
I recently completed a Masters in Education at the University of Cambridge and am now starting a PhD in October of 2017. I am looking to tutor on the side because I would like to make money, but also because I really enjoy teaching! I have over ten years of experience working with students from 5 to 35 years old in 4 different countries. I taught English for one year at a University in the Dominican Republic, and then maths and geography for two to Years 7-9. In my three years in the Dominican Republic, I also gave both individual and small group tutoring to three different families of Koreans. Classes included preparation for the SAT and TOEFL exams, as well as simple homework help, reading and writing. In addition, I have worked at several educational non-profits, one in Costa Rica as well, giving small group lessons on culture, reading, language, etc. Because I have moved around a lot, I am now giving online lessons as well (available through Skype), for a high school Asian-American, a Japanese professional adult, and a Colombian eight year old boy. I am responsible, compassionate, and fun, and more than confident that I will be able to help you or loved one in their academic or intellectual goals. Thank you!
