Special Needs Care in Wigan

| I have provided expert care for patients with for example, a severe spinal injury, that rendered him paralysed from the neck down. The patient also had a Phrenic Nerve Pacer and could not breathe independently. During the 8 years that I cared for the patient, I gained invaluable experience of using a Ventilator, Stats Monitor, Trans-Abdominal Stomach Catheter and both changing and managing a Tracheostomy. I have also cared for patients who have suffered Strokes and who have Eating Disorders.

| My name is Abigail and I am a Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school specializing in Special Needs and 1-1 work, outside of work in my free time I am a PA for a little girl with Down syndrome, I take her to places like the beach, swimming, cinema etc, I have a real love for working with children and love to see them flourish! I’m very patient, understanding and caring and want to do the best to support your children!

| I am currently employed by GMMH as a senior support worker. I work in AFS (Adult Forensic Services) in a medium secure hospital. I have experience in Personality Disorder, Autism, eating disorder, complex needs, self harm and anti social behaviour.

| I have worked in the care setting since I was 16 - 8 years. I started off as a care assistant, progressing to a senior carer then to care team leader. I looked after vulnerable adults with learning difficulties, mental health issues and dementia. My own child suffers with ADHD so I can understand the challenges from all aspects. I have a passion for caring and assisting individuals to achieve their full potential. I am currently completing a medical sciences degree at open university. I have my NVQ 2,3 and 4 in health and social care.

| I have over ten years experience of working with children and young people with Autism, ADHD, EBD, PMLD. I currently work in a special school which has 40 pupils with autism. I look after a 15 year old boy with autism on a Saturday and have an 11 year old girl overnight once or twice a month.

| Hi, I’m a mum of four girls. I currently work part time for a local charity supporting adults in a secure unit, who present challenging behaviours. I’ve worked within the care sector for 20 years, as well as supporting family with end of life care and respite for my nephew. I enjoy being able to support people and enable them to achieve their goals.

| I have worked at a centre for 4 years now where Conductive education, Therapy and Physio is provided to babies, children, young people and adults with disabilities and additional needs. We also do fun clubs where we look after lots of different Children and do fun activities with them. I am a qualified level 4 assistant. I work alongside our team in helping our Children to move, walk and communicate more effectively and independently whilst also helping create a fun and happy environment for them. It is the loveliest, most rewarding job I could have ever asked for and I enjoy being able to help people and make a difference in their lives. I am currently learning some makaton in order to communicate better with some of our Children. A little bit about my personality and who I am I am always smiling and love having a laugh. I am really friendly and get on with anyone. I would say I am an empathetic person so really care about people and their feelings. I am confident but also very gentle natured. I have a lot of experience looking after Children with a variety of different conditions, I am extremely trustworthy and would treat your Child with love, respect and kindness.

My name I maria and I have over ten years experience with sen children in the Wigan area. I have been a classroom assistant in a special school and also a full time fostercarer in my own home for over 8 years. I have looked after young person with epilepsy and sever learning difficulty, and I have designed toys equipment within home environment. I have also gone out in the community with young children and adults who needed mobility aids and other forms of help. I have provided 24hr care for disabled young person and I have aided with medication and personal care. I am well able to work with parents and on my own and although I do not have a driving licence I have never found it a problem.
