I have experience of working as a personal care assistant to two boys who have autism spectrum syndrome aged 4 and 6. Both boys also had global development delay, behavioural issues and were non verbal. It was of high importance to ensure that routine was followed and consistenteny kept the same as change would make them both very anxious and often present challenging behaviour. Both children used PEC symbols and mackaton as a form of communication. I have also worked in a special needs school as a special needs teaching assistant, I worked in a class of 20 children all who had different special needs and disabilities ranging from Autism, cerebal palsy, visual impairments and physical disabilities. At present I am a nanny for a family of 3 mainstream children aged 7 months, 5 and 8 years of age. I have availability during the week and weekends and only work during term time meaning I am available during school holidays if needed. I am looking to find a special needs role to start as soon as possible and can discuss days that I am available. I also hold a child care level 3 qualification am ofsted registered, hold a full UK driving licence, a up to date DBS certificate, autism awareness trained and am Pedeatric first aid trained.
