Elderly Care in East Riding of Yorkshire

| I have worked with valnurable elderly people and am still in this industry working with them. I look after disabled elderly people, some with dementia who cannot help themselves and I had to assist them with personal care, feeding, and all other household chores. I am also a good companion to the independent elderly who will need assistance in taking their medicine.

I am currently studying my advanced level 5 and 6 is health and social care, have many qualifications in the field and a lot of experience with complex care, dementia care, MnD, MS, brain injury, stroke, breathing equipment, feeding equipment, peg feeding, incontinence, catheter care, immobile clients, etc. Also on the other side I have clients just wanting companionship, household chores, shopping, cooking a friendly face to see and chat too to break their day up. I have worked with the elderly for 4 years previously and have my dementia care award (NVQ level 2). I have helped care for elderly family members for around 6 years and believe that every person deserves the highest standard of care available and should be treat with dignity and respect at all times.

| I have worked in a elderly residential care home for 4 years and also home care for 4 years and I'm currently working for a healthcare company where I drive to service users houses and prepare meals, help with medication and bathing also.

| I have worked in the care sector for more than 10 years, looking after the elderly, special needs, challenging behaviour both in their homes and care homes. I am very passionate with my job and I am a hard worker, good listener and aways willing to learn new things.

| I am a very kind understanding person. I help elderly people in different aspects of their lives. I interact very well with them. I have also worked with a young man who is brain damaged who also suffers from epilepsy and has a lot of complex needs. So i am trained in peg feeding epilepsy trained and tracheostomy trained.

| I do have some elderly care experience. In the past couple of years I have helped care for a woman who was in her 90's with general housework and also another lady in her 70's with several health conditions. The main health issue that required the most assistance was parkinsons. I would carry out meal preparation as well as cooking several meals in advance. I would administer her medication, make sure she always had food and drinks available by each room due to her mobility. I would accompany her on hospital trips occasionally, as well as housekeeping.
