Dementia Care York

| I am current working in a care home and have been doing so for 4 years and previously before having my children.. I have done alot of training in dementia ect and have had a dbs check..I am looking to find something that suits my own hours and also something I enjoy, be a chat and a cup of tea or a walk to the shop to get some milk or cleaning those hard to reach places... I'm there .. Aimee

| I have worked for the past 11 years for a couple privately. For the first 4 years I did cleaning & ironing and anything else that they wanted me to do. Suddenly in 2015 had a major stroke, so I was asked if I would like to work for them full time, bearing in mind that they had 2 dogs which obviously needed walking, so I didn’t hesitate and started working for them doing house keeping, washing, ironing & dog walking & anything else that needed doing. In 2020 passed away to Covid which left Her with the 2 dogs on her own. She was quiet able to do many chores for herself but gradually over the last 4 years deteriorated in the sense of dementia, which meant that I was her carer & eventually I did everything until she passed away in January.

| I have worked in care for 3 years and am able to provide references for this I have GCSEs, an Extended diploma in Health and Social Care and am doing a degree in adult nursing. I have training in: First aid Dementia specialist training CPR and medical emergencies Breaking bad news to relatives I have also worked on a ward setting in frailty with the elderly with all sorts of medical diagnosis’s. I am happy to take part in helping with personal care, meal prep, prompting medications, house work, companionship and any other tasks including shopping and days out. I love the elderly and think they deserve the best quality of care which I’m able to give by getting to know your relative and creating a person centred care plan for them. | Hello. I was my dad's main career, looked after him until he passed, at which point I started working for a care agency for over five year, before taking the plunge and setting up, my own business. I have been trained in end of life care, peg feeds/medication also trained in dementia care and medication dispense. I have my care certificate as well as NVQs in caring for people with autism schizophrenia and you’re a divergent. I am also working on an NVQ in special educational needs. | I worked in Singapore as a private nurse, I had look after an elderly with dementia, an elderly who suffered from stroke and arthritis also I had a patient who is a teen age autistic boy with epilepsy, I am doing a daily care from assisting, bathing, preparing their foods and feeding, also giving meds, assisting to walk, assisting in doctors appointment, monitoring fits, BP and making sure of safety. Also doing some musical therapy, some physical therapy, bringing the patient to the garden for fresh air, transferring patient from bed to wheelchair. Doing also some reading of books, tidying patient things and make sure of the supply last and order it before it's finished. Ensuring the safety and also making sure they are comfortable and happy. I am a very hard worker, flexible and honest, If I will be given a chance to work I can give not just a 100 percent but 200 percent of my best. Also I am willing to learn new things that will add more success in my work. I am a good hearted person, same as those I look after in Singapore I cared for them like my own family and not just because it's my job. Also a had a good working relationship to some of the colleagues I have at the same house.
