| I have 2.5 years experience in elderly home care where i prepared and served food gave personal care and companion in patients own home . I had clients with dementia , Parkinson and disability. I have care certificate and Dds on update service. I am happy to help out with house work , cooking and personal care. Also able to take out client on outings , shopping or hospital appointments.

| I have a passion for helping people I have been lucky enough to be in the care business for 37 years ,my experience and background is enabling a gent to live in his own home he was both mentally and physically disabled, with complex care needs / a elderly lady who had dementia the elderly as a personal assistant , my role & resonsibilities were all aspects of personal care , cleaning cooking ,travelling on holidays ,grocery shopping,managing a family calendar I am currently working within the NHS as a Health Care Assistant, my experience includes people with deminta & disability's, tracheostomy care. | I currently work for a senior care company where I visit elderly people in their own home, for companionship, assistance with medication, meal preparation light housework and assistance with shopping and outdoor activities. I have experience supporting people with dementia helping them to live independently in their own home, Having company and assisting with everyday tasks, giving reassurance and above all being kind and patient and client focused really helps people live happier more independent lives. I have had this role for over a year and before that I worked with a young lady with complex care needs. I love my role working in the community in senior care and find it very rewarding. At present I work with at least six different clients, but i would prefer to work as a personal carer/assistant to just one client.

I have hands-on experience using mobility equipment such as hoists including ceiling hoists and rota-stand. I have worked with a variety of different vulnerable adults, each with a unique set of care requirements. I have worked with an MS patient with very limited mobility, assisted her with her physiotherapy exercises, changed her incontinence pads and catheter, helped her with showering. I have helped patients with severe paralysis, using methods of transfer safe for both the patient and I. I have experience working with dementia patients, calming them down when they are having a hysteric episode, talking to them and comforting them. I have worked with many more patients too. I can do domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning or more difficult tasks such as performing cpr or assisting a patient after a fall.

I was lucky enough to appy for a job within the NHS was offered a post as care assistant in cardiology , in this job I would wash and dress patients , assist with meals take out canulas , I would assist the nurse on shift also dealing with admissions..I have worked in various healthcare enviroments

| Worked for 25 years for Sunderland council mental health section, in a rehabilitation, reablement and care service, working with adults 18 years and over, clients had variety of diagnosis, including, anxiety/depression bi polar disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia dementia . Clients needs ranged from, home support, budgeting, companionship, some personal care, meal preparation, housework. medication dispensing and most of all encouragement to maintain independence within their own home environment.

My grandmother now suffers from dementia, so I not only have experience of working on elderly care wards but have personal experience- I know how hard both the good times and bad times can be.
