| Hello, my name is Catrin and I am 22 years old. I have recently moved to Roath, Cardiff as I wanted to move back to Wales after university. I have worked in 2 care homes in Swansea and Llanelli, and consider myself to be experienced in providing excellent care for the elderly. I also have in depth experience with people with dementia, and have attended various dementia training courses as well as becoming a Dementia Friend, as I am passionate about diminishing the stigma associated with the condition. I consider myself to be a very caring, friendly and respectful individual. I am fully flexible in terms of the hours I can work, and would welcome the opportunity to work full time. | I am currently working as a Care Assistant in a Residential Care Home but hoping to become self employed. I have worked in NHS (12 years as Auxiliary Nurse plus 8 years as a ward/clinic clerk) as well as private care homes and looked after my husband for 4 years. I also have experience as an Activity Coordinator within Elderly Care settings I am experienced in Dementia as well as Elderly Care and an advocate of person centred care I do not drive however so ideally am looking for local work or work accessible by public transport I have a current DBS.

I started my nursing career 14 years ago and have experience in neonatal,pediatric and adult ICU as well as other critical care areas such as Coronary, Burns& Dialysis. I also hold experience in outpatient ,medical conditions,care of the elderly, dementia and live in care.

| I offer care and understanding especially for people with dementia I help with day to day chores I support family members when things become difficult and overwhelming I cared for my mother who had dementia over 10 years I have a client with terminal cancer who loves going shopping, I help changing beds, cleaning and recently Christmas wrapping. Another lady has had a stroke, she has carers 4 times a day I go to encourage speech, we sing, she reads to me. It has helped immensely with her speech. Her husband has dementia whilst carers are with his wife I distract him with card games. On occasion we have gone for a drive and coffee. I have a lovely lady with dementia who I visit weekly. She lives with her daughter, I know from my own experiences what having a few hours break means. I have done some overnight visits, we do a bit of knitting listen to old songs and a bit of cooking. I collect her from her day centre on a weekly basis and take her for appointments. I have a gentleman who after several infections has come rely on me, I make sure he has food in and do a bit of cooking and cleaning when he is not well.
