Companion Care Oxford

| My name is Sarah and I am a 33 year old female with over 13 years experience in the care sector. I have worked both privately for clients in their own homes and in company settings also . I am experienced with dementia care, PEG feeding, incontinence care, catheter care, companionship, medication management and also palliative care. I am mum to a 5 year old and 1 year old. Full UK clean license held for 16 years.

| Caring for the elderly have been a thing of great joy for me. The experience is quite challenging and rewarding at same time. I have looked after my Grandma,who happen to have dementia. It opened me up to selfless service, compassionate care and empathy. I am Nursing Assistant in JR Hospital. In our Ward, we take care of mostly elderly patients, patients with Dementia, Learning Disabilities, Delirium, Frail adults, adults with varying complex health challenges. I have been trained to work independently with little or no supervision. I am a good listener, have good communication skills, compassionate, kind and ability to work under pressure. I have also learned to be very patient when dealing with my patients. I help with toileting, giving a wash, making their beds, companionship and mobilizing those who find it difficult to do so without support. I respect and promote my patients privacy, dignity and confidentiality. I have been trained to take observations, do ECG, check and monitor blood sugar amongst other things. With trainings and experience I have gained over time, I am competent taking care of elderly people passionately.

| Over 10+ years in the care sector, experience supporting the elderly who have autism , learning disabilities, dementia. As a self employed personal assistant I have experience in all areas of support including companionship, shopping, support to attend appointments, housekeeping, support to engage in activities within the community and transportation.

| I care for people as if they were my own family and how I'd want them treated. I'm very passionate about senior care, kind, caring, calm and very patient and empathetic. I'm able to provide both physical and emotional support to clients, help with meal preparation, medication reminders, bathing and dressing, bathroom assistance, companion care

| I have experience with providing care for senior service users. I am a qualified carer for the Oxford City Council, Shared Lives.I have been exposed to care from a young age as I have elderly grandparents, my mother is also a carer and I have experienced many different service users needs, and cultural backgrounds. I am also a beauty therapist from home and enjoy making people feel good about themselves when they leave my home based salon. I have experience with offering to run errands, shopping, making doctors appointments, prompt with medication, cooking, help with self grooming and offering companionship. I am a caring person who loves to make people happy and I most enjoy getting to know clients on a personal level. I enjoy baking, socializing with family and making people laugh. My priority is to offer a high quality care service which is professional and friendly.

| I have had beautiful opportunity taking care of my grannies both paternal and maternal! They all had challenges in one way or the other, my paternal grandma had dimentia and hearing issues, I was left to taking care of her till she passed on. I was with them both even in their dying period! I love to take care of people and elders , being conscious of what they need and at what time is very necessary, companionship and communication keeps them going and independent to their needs not taking the opportunity totally away to do the little they can do for themselves even when they aren’t able to move around.
