I have many years experience of being a carer for elderly individuals in a care home setting and also as a private carer. I have also cared for my own mother for a number of years after I had to bring her to live with me in my home when she became ill until she passed away in may. My mother suffered from various illnesses which required her to have full time care. These included diabetes, heart failure, COPD, angina, osteoporosis, arthritis, and incontinence to name but a few. My daily care for my mother included, administering medication, providing and preparing food under a strict diet in accordance with her conditions, helping with physio exercises, dressing wounds as and when needed. Providing first aid in times of emergencies, attending hospital and GP appointments,bathing and washing her hair, shopping and daily activities to keep my mother happy and occupied. I have a very caring, patient and understanding nature and believe in providing the best possible care in accordance with each individuals needs, in a compassionate manner.
