I have just left school and on my gap year. I achieved A* in Maths and A in further maths IGCSE and a B in Maths A-Level. I know what the challenges are after having just done it myself and can simplify and explain more difficult calculations. I have no experience in tutoring families but I mentored children at my school in the younger years (year 5 to 10) and taught them anything which they struggled with. One girl said she felt very comfortable opening up to me in what she did not know instead of saying she did. I still have all my school textbooks and notes which I can bring in order to help your child.
