As a foster carer I have cared for children with varying degrees of complex needs. The last two children were greatly affected by their conditions. I met and cared for a newborn in hospital until he was able to join my family at home. Whilst on SCU I realised he was blind. He came home with severe developmental delay. bi-lateral brain damage and severe visual impairment needing a lot of medication. I cared for him until adoption in 2016. Since then I have a toddler with pre-diagnosis of Autism who suffers very high levels of Sensory Processing Disorder. My experience is varied on a wide scale. Previously I worked as a nanny in central London doing various jobs for 11 years before I had my daughter in 2002.
