I believe the experience I gained during the six years working as a carer combined with my innate qualities, give me the necessary skills and understanding required for the position of care assistant. During that time, I provided care and companionship for the elderly, the severely disabled and others with special needs and mental health conditions. Am able to carry out all aspects of the role from personal care, administering medication, meal preparation and record keeping and am willing to work to a rota, including night shifts.
