I have been my son's sole carer since he was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 5, he is now 20. I have extensive knowledge of Autism and communication disorders, and spent 5 years working in a special needs school. I have also done voluntary work in mainstream schools supporting children with a range of additional needs. I am very caring and passionate about special needs as it has been a huge part of my life, and provides me with real satisfaction at being able to help and make a difference to people. I am able to use both PECS and Makaton as a form of communication.
