I have always had dogs and cats in my family, and was taught from a young age to treat them with respect. My grandparents and parents taught me to train dogs, and I find that well trained dogs with a regular routine are much happier. I have never bought a dog from a breeder, I have adopted unwanted animals from a shelter (dogs) or taken on animals that were unwanted (cats). Recently I moved into a shared occupancy house which doesn't allow pets, and I miss the daily contact with animals.
