I was a registered nurse from July 1990 until November 2017. I have a wealth of experience of working in Lagan Valley Hospital, RVH and The Mater Hospital as a band 5 staff nurse and band 6 deputy sister. My last post was as a band 7 Ward Manager in a rehabilitation ward for over 65's in Lurgan hospital from January 2007 to November 2017. Unfortunately due to a back injury I had to take ill health retirement when I was 45 and am no longer on the NMC register as a registered nurse. I have a specialist practice degree in the care of older people and I am passionate about providing individual, person centered care. I believe that every person has the right to be treated with dignity and respect and have their needs assessed and tailored individually to them. I can provide personal care, dressing, toileting and continence care, skin care, dressings and wound care, assistance with eating and drinking, medication management, light household chores, meal preparation, companionship, shopping and mobility assistance.
