I was a health care worker for many years and my very elderly grandmother's carer for many years. She recently passed away at the age of 100. She was mentally very astute but her body was frail so I did her cleaning, both in the bungalow and her personal care. I helped her to get dressed and did her hair. I cooked for her and did her shopping, I also took her for trips out or to visit people. I loved listening to her many stories with interest and saw every day as a blessing. She taught me lots of things and I saw my moments with her not as a chore but a wonderful experience. I also volunteered for 2 years in Denmark with the Red Cross with the refugee crisis so I am very versatile and adept with certain challenges.
