I have cared for service users with various health conditions. My experience is in managing peg feeding pumps, managing pain, suction machines , taking blood sugar levels , and recordings for a diabetic patient, diet management, food and fluid charts respiratory equipment , managing neurological conditions such as Parkinsons with use of the duo dopa pump. I also have experience of working with individuals who have epilepsy , brain injury ,stomach bags,catheter bags and bowel movement Intervention. I have also cared for service users with conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer, cancer, stroke , motor neuron disease, spinal bifida and multiple sclerosis. I received training from an Occupational Therapist , for exercises for a service users stroke recovery , in order to improve the service users mobility .The goal for that particular service user was to walk again. Goal setting for service users is important as it allows , them to be motivated and attain purpose . I feel this helps the service user to maintain hope and independence in order to attain a better quality of life .
