I have helped with somebody, who was recovering from a serious illness, by being a general companion. My responsibilities included cooking meals, house work, shopping, taking them to hospital appointments, walking and feeding their dog. I lived in, on a weekly basis, with this person. This person was not elderly. I have also helped an elderly lady with dementia. I did all the above plus helped bathe her. With doing the above, I gained so much pleasure knowing that I have helped them, that I would love to make this my career. There is no greater feeling than helping somebody and knowing that you have made their life a bit easier and enjoyable.
