I have worked as a carer in the community for 10+ years and I have loved and continue to love every minute of it. Most recently I was a CQC registered manager and in my inspection received an overall rating of good. I have experience in all aspects of care - ensuring that the persons caring for are safe at home. At the moment I care for a range of people all with different care needs. My roles included the following: • Personal Care (Washing, Showering, Dressing) • Food preparation • Domestic tasks e.g Laundry, Cleaning, Washing up etc • Companionship • Medication (This might be prompting of medication - when the client has full capacity and may just need reminding to take their medication. It may also be administering their medication - so giving them their medication and recording this on a MAR chart.) • Taking clients to appointments • Food shopping • Breakfast calls (Waking the client and giving them a wash/shower and then breakfast) • Lunchtime calls (Food calls) • Teatime calls (Food calls) • Bedtime calls (Assisting the client into their bedclothes and then putting them to bed)
