I am 20 years old and I am very experienced with children. I spent the past summer (June - August 2018) working at a summer camp in Massachusetts. I lived in bunk with five 10 year old girls and taught lacrosse and art to all campers from ages 6 years old to 15. My experience as a camp counselor has given me the vital skills required to be a babysitter, including: patience, creativity, problem solving and conflict resolution. Furthermore, I have younger siblings and cousins which I have babysat on many occasions including full time over previous summer holidays to allow our parents to work. In addition, I have had many voluntary posts working with children including being a young leader at beaver scouts, helping at a mime group for young people with disabilities and spending 5 weeks in Malawi as a youth group worker teaching health promotion. Finally, my experiences as a student nurse are invaluable to being an excellent babysitter. Two of my placements have been in health visiting where I gained experience caring for 0-5 year olds. Overall, I believe I make a great babysitter. Not only am I sensible and diligent, I am also very friendly and love to have fun.
