Hi my name is Marissa. I am a 27 year old female who just moved to London from the land down under, Australia in February. I am a practising registered nurse of 4 years, whereby I worked in a major tertiary hospital in Brisbane in the Hepatobillary and Trauma division. Before this, I worked in the childcare setting at a before and after school care facility, whereby I looked after children of all ages ranging from 4-13 years of age. The role entailed planning fun activities that catered to every child’s interest ( arts and crafts, building, group games, sports and outdoor recreation and quiet time, where kids could unwind after a big day at school), feeding the children and providing first aid when needed. As much as I love working in the healthcare field I am very keen to take a step back from nursing for a year and return to a childcare role and take onboard a babysitting/ nannying role. I have a passion for child development and think it’s important that children thrive in an environment that promotes their physical, social, cognitive and emotional growth. I have also done some babysitting for friends with newly borns.
