I have with MENCAP and in a school I have experience the challenging behavior with children. I have a passion for working with children with BESD/SEN. It is very rewarding. Especially when you have seen a child learn from the concept you taught them. For example: I supported child who doesn't retain much and it was frustrating for him. I used repetitive simple strategies that help him to remember. He could not remember numbers 1-3. I played a game called look, take a picture, and hide. This game I would start off with a few numbers then ask him to remember the image, ask him to close his eyes remember, I would change the sequence of numbers and get him to fix it. I did this with him repetitively, with different numbers words, colors, shapes and picture cards. When I started with him, he couldn't remember the numbers 1-3, When he finished his practice, he learnt the numbers 1 to 20. Knowledge, Understanding and experience of the reading process
