My name is Gemma Timperley (18 years old), and I have recently passed my Level 3 Childcare qualification. With this course, I have had a full CRB check done and have also gained a lot of valuable experience with children aged 1-4. I am a Christian, this along with past experiences means that I treat children with empathy and respect. I attend a church, Emmanuel, every Sunday, while there I help run a crèche, looking after children aged 0-2 1/2. I belong to a music group, in which I play the guitar, in September, I will be returning as a teacher to aid the learning of beginners. I believe that when looking after children it is vital that a bond has been made, I ensure that this can be achieved by being persistent, but bonds are always formed on the child's terms as I don't believe in forcing them. I wish to have a career in childcare and feel that this could be an amazing opportunity for me to gain extra experience. I have enrolled in my second year of this course, meaning that I can gain the UCAS points to attend university in the future. As it is the summer break, it means that I am more flexible during this time.
