I am 19 and I am currently taking a gap year from university. A bit about me, whilst attending university I was required to attend placement at a primary school. I worked doing pastoral work in doing three or four sessions a week with children of different ages in the school. I would do barrier games with the children, and it helped me to start forming relationships.I was offered a part time job at the school as a SEN teaching assistant which I have gained a lot of experience from.I run after school club in the week, I am able to spend extra time with the children, and play games with them outside, and make them snacks and help form a good relationship with them. I worked in a school setting with children for seven months, I am also the eldest child in my family so have looked after my two younger sisters on many many occasions. In this time I have worked closely with children who find learning challenging, or have complex needs and learning needs to be looked at in a different way for them. I have also worked closely with the class teaching assistant in year 4, and have started to help run intervention groups, and done a handful myself which has helped me with activities for children and making them up myself.
