We have had Jenny as our nanny for almost 2.5 years looking after our two kids, now 4.5 yrs and nearly 10 years respectively. Having Jenny as our nanny meant peace of mind for us - she was quick to learn and adapt - cooking Indian food, looking after the kids, bathing them and looking after the house. My experience: I currently work as a speech and language therapist for preschool- aged children in the Merton area. Prior to this, I spent 4 months in Australia, where I nannied three boys, aged 9, 15 and 17. Care included picking the youngest child up from school, taking him to after-school clubs, cooking dinner for the three of them, and washing and ironing clothes. Izzy starting working with us when our daughter was 4 months old. We were just learning how to be parents much less knowing the ropes and she was loving and flexible with our daughter and incredibly organised and fun with her as well. We could count on her and she was so thoughtful and adventurous - ensuring that our daughter was happy and active. I went back to work and she made the transition very easy. She has kept in touch and even come back to visit. The only reason she stopped working with us is because she went back to school and we are pleased to hear she will now be using her skills to become a teacher. I am american and without family locally, I knew my daughter was in good hands- and with the regular pictures from my daughters day that Izzy would send, I also got to feel like I wasn't too far when I was back at work.
