I have worked with children in various settings, including schools with able and disabled children, aged 9 - 12, in which I helped out with both the teachers preparation for activities and the children with their daily work, such as maths, reading and writing. I have also volunteered with younger children in an after-school club for my Duke of Edinburgh award; helping out with preparing meals, assisting children read and with their homework and getting involved in games and activities with the children. Informally, I have looked after young children, such as my cousins, for brief periods of time. I have not yet had proper babysitting experience, however I am eager to begin, learn quickly and am keen to gain as much experience as I can. I enjoy working with children as I find the work so fulfilling and enjoyable that, to me, it does not feel like work. I am also pursuing a career in child nursing, and feel that I have the right qualities to work with children, as I am trustworthy, reliable, responsible and know how to have fun with children, whilst having common sense.
