I am the second eldest of four girls and come from a very loving family who have instilled in us high values and morals. I am a responsible, caring young adult who has an interest in working with younger children. The volunteer work I have participated in over the past few years highlights my passion for working alongside younger children. I was privileged enough last year to be a successful applicant for the Xavier High School Yuedumu Immersion Program. Immersion allowed me to visit the remote Aboriginal community of Yudeumu located in the Northern Territory. I spent a week living in the Yudenmu school working with both teachers and students. I spent time assisting teachers in the classrooms attending to their needs as well as building strong relationships with the students. This opportunity ultimately shaped my future aspirations which are to work alongside Indigenous children within the education workforce. The immersion program not only strengthened my leadership qualities but also allowed me to understand a side of myself which is full of compassion and care.
