My name is Megan, and I am 25 years old. I graduated from Mount Royal, with a Social Work Diploma, in 2018. During my time at school I did two practicums, one at Vecova and one at the Janas Academy. Afterwards I worked at Vecova for a couple years. At vecova I was a job coach and helped people with disabilities develop skills to play a bigger part in the community. I did lots of volunteering and job placements with the clients. I also have done lots of independent work with clients with disabilities, such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and others. Before I got into social work at Mount Royal, I was a swim instructor and lifeguard for 5 years. During this time I did swimming lessons with kids, and adults of all abilities. Since the start of the Corona Virus I lost my job and am looking for new work. I am excited to hear from you.

I started volunteering with CADS in 2014 up in Edmonton many years ago. I fell in love with the family of the little boy I worked with and started doing respite work with him and his siblings on evenings and weekends, I have continued this work ever since.
I have worked with many different children in school settings, summer camp settings or respite settings in and around Calgary since that time! I find each and every family that I work for rewarding and special even if it is just a few hours a couple times a week.
I am currently looking for summer work as I work in the school system during the school year!
