Seeking the assistance of an energetic and positive person to assist with the with the morning / afternoon routine and occasional overnight if away for work. Hi there. I am looking for a caregiver/nanny in the Inner West area of Sydney. We are a busy professional couple who need someone to 'fill in the gaps' for after school care and some evenings and mornings. But mostly after school. The main thing to consider is that our beautiful son is 13 and is on the Autism Spectrum (ASD). While his clinical needs may seem intense, he is a very easy boy to manage and has a wonderful gentle temperament. After school on most days he'd keep himself amused with an ipad, patting his cat, a walk in the neighbourhood, making noodles in the kitchen or bouncing his ball outside. My ideal caregiver would be male or female who is familiar with the needs of an ASD/ADHD. So would suit an education student or someone who has experience in their family life with special needs children. Due to his ASD he needs a quiet, patient person who can manage any heightened moods with calmness and empathy. Once a good reporte is established with him all his quirks and behaviours will be easy to understand and manage. For the first few weeks I may need a carer for 4 to 6 hours a day as my son transitions to full time schooling. From then on you'll be required possibly 3 to 4 days a week from 3pm until 6pm. The duties would be fairly light. He made need some assistance to make a snack, change out of school clothes etc, But for the most part he is pretty independent. From week to week the days will change as my work roster is changed every few weeks, however there''ll be plenty of notice and you will be able to plan your life accordingly.
