Our family is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic in-home educator commencing late April for our 2 children, for a minimum of 2 days (18 hours) per week, with hours approximately 6am-3pm. Care will be primarily for the 18-month-old, with the 6-year-old requiring before/after school care. Some weeks may require additional days and/or variance to start/finish times (at times this may be after 6pm) and therefore flexibility and ability to work at short notice will be highly regarded. The successful candidate needs to meet certain criteria to match our family's needs and to also be eligible for funding by the Provider (Wesley Mission In Home Care). The family requires an Educator who: •Has a clean driver’s licence and a registered vehicle for use (family can provide car seats/pram) •Has a high standard of personal hygiene and good health. As the toddler is immunocompromised, the family request that the educator is fully vaccinated including flu vaccine in order to preserve the toddler’s health •Is reliable, flexible and willing to work with the family around start/finish times depending on family work requirements •Can commit to the minimum hours/days, as well early morning start times and additional days at short notice •Can demonstrate knowledge of Early Childhood Education and can engage effectively with the children. The family can provide necessary resources to promote a fun and advantageous learning environment for the toddler •Can do school drop off/pick up as required •Is open-minded and patient – The 18-month-old requires support to establish feeding and must not be pushed or pressured •Can give milk feeds through a nasogastric tube if required (full education will be provided) •Is honest and respectful of the family’s privacy within their home •Available full time for 2 weeks in May (dates to be confirmed) •Can prepare and provide meals for both children The Provider requires Educator to have: •Completed or show evidence of working towards a qualification approved for working with over pre-school age children https://###.######.###.##/qualifications/nqf-approved •Police Check •(HLTAID004) including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training •Blue Card •The ability to communicate effectively with children, young people and adults •All educators are required to have Public Liability Insurance. This can be obtained through Family Day Care Australia or Nannysure, which have developed an insurance package specific to In Home Care
