I've experience working in residential care for elderly people with disabilities and have an education in this work field. I immediatly fell in love with the job and the people I worked with. I believe that being a careworker is more than providing support. It's about forming a relationship together, to build on trust and be attentive to the needs and goals of the person you're working with. I've been told I have a patient and warm demeanor. I've a critical eye when it comes to inclusion and self determination, but mainly I enjoy working with people and try to find the humour in life. I strongly support that every person should be able to feel valued and participate in society, regardless of their age or struggles.
