When my dad told me that he had hired someone to come into the home to help him and my mother, I was astonished. For years I had suggested that they needed help - but my dad always rejected my suggestion. He was a very independent and private man, and he was also fearful of having strangers in his house who might snoop or worse. So you can imagine my surprise when he told me that he had hired someone to come in to their home to help him and my mother. That person must be a special person, I thought. In the beginning, it was just a few times a week, but as time went on, my parents, Louis and Elsbeth Solomon, needed Shannon and her amazing staff, more and more, to the point now of 24/7 care for my mother. Shannon's competence and professionalism are only matched by her compassion and sensitivity. She is wise and strong and kind. The same is true for her exemplary staff. My suspicious dad was a good judge of character when he decided to hire Shannon. As corny as it sounds, I feel like the people from Homeworks Caregiving have become a part of our family and I count them all as friends. True! I cannot imagine hiring anyone better to take care of my parents and I hope that if I need help in my final years, I will have a Shannon Gibbs and Homeworks Caregiving to do that.
