I started Early Learning Skills after raising my children when I had time to get back professionally to what I've always loved, working and connecting with children. I started off with a few referrals and gradually that word of mouth moved online. I was definitely slower to move online since I've always considered education very personal. Didn't we all love at least a few of our teachers along the way? But as times have changed for the foreseeable future, and I'd rather smile across Zoom than miss out with my mask on, I've moved entirely to online distance learning now. I can incorporate interactive whiteboards, introduce great videos, share meaningful websites, but most importantly have real one to one conversations with my students and help them learn. Distance learning means different things to different people, but for me I see my role as an advocate for my student. For some students it means staying on track, for others it means getting ahead of the pack. I'm here to help each student maintain and balance their workload, whatever that might entail.
