As a certified K12 teacher I've taught art at every grade level in public school over 10 years. While teaching public school I earned a Dodge Foundation Grant, for a few months I worked with the NJSymphony Orchestra created interdisciplinary curriculum for the state of NJ combining art and music. While teaching in Paramus I wrote the middle school art curriculum for grades 5-8. I was Youth Art Month chair for Bergen County creating large scale art exhibits that included 67 schools. My background in teaching allows me to clearly address each skill level of artists while making sure to hit NJ and national educational standards. Prior to teaching I had earned my BFA in Illustration with a triple minor in Drawing, Photography and Art History. I was, and am, a freelance artist and photographer. This lends perfectly to teaching about job skills and connecting with the world around us. I believe in each artist finding and expressions through their own voice while learning about our world along the way. I also believe in exhibiting and community spirit. All my artists have the opportunity to exhibit their work, and twice a year I have a huge community give back to local hospitals!
