I am a 27 year old Psychology graduate from Scotland. I have been a carer for my severely handicapped and autistic brother for most of my life, and this has inspired me to help others in similar situations. I am experienced in all aspects of personal care, non-verbal communication, prescribed diets, administration of medication, using basic medical equipment to check stats (BP, oxygen levels etc.) and mobility support (including wheelchairs and walking support). I also have some experience in mental health support work, with both adults and children. I provided support within a "befriending" role to individuals with autism, schizophrenia, and drug and alcohol abuse problems. In this role I completed crisis counselling training, ASIST suicide intervention training, and received a Disclosure Scotland PVG check. I also completed my last Emergency First Aid training (Urban Training, Scotland) in June 2017.
