About

Rebel Art Summer Camps are full of exploration, creative excitement, and and just plain fun! Each week we offer a variety of different media projects (acrylic painting, watercolor, plaster sculpture, mixed media, collage, printmaking, and more!). Projects change each week making it easy for campers to attend multiple weeks of camp without repeating projects. We ensure a good balance between 2D and 3D projects, so whether your young artists prefers to build things and be hands on, or paint, draw, or print things they'll be more than pleased! Our camps are not only fun, but an opportunity for young artists to explore art mediums that they typically do not get in school, an education in art terminology and art history (including current artists).

We break up the week by hosting camp in different locations. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are hosted at the studio on South Main st., Tuesdays we meet at Civic Park (1375 Civic Dr, Walnut Creek), and Thursdays we meet at Heather Farms (301 N San Carlos Dr, Walnut Creek,). This unique opportunity is only offered during summer camps, and is incredibly special as it allows campers to experience working in plein air (from life outside) as well as in the studio for a complete art experience. Please note that we keep a close watch on the weather and air quality and will relocate to the studio if it will be too hot or poor air.

*We will take a snack break mid-way through camp each day, and we ask that you send your camper/s with a snack and water bottle. As many campers have allergies we do insist that all food be nut free, thank you. Please also make sure your camper has a hat or sunscreen for when we are outside.

*Please do not send your artist to class if they have any cold/flu symptoms (exhibiting, but not limited to cough, sore throat, fever (temp of 100.4 +), shortness of breath, vomiting and/or diarrhea, or chills). Students who arrive or become ill at the studio will be sent home as soon as possible and will be isolated until pick-up.

*There will be hand sanitizer stations within the studio, though we ask that both students and staff wash hands with soap and water upon entering the studio and just prior to leaving. Students and teachers will wash hands with soap and water throughout the class period due the nature of art making.

*We require that parents/caretakers remain outside of the studio. Please feel free to accompany your artist to check-in/check-out (and peek your head into see the space), but please be sure to provide distance between other parents/caretakers. We know that many of our younger artists may be a bit anxious at first, and in those circumstances we welcome you to come into the entry way to check in with them, but we do not permit adults other than staff into the actual studio rooms.

*If you signed up for a camp and need to cancel for any reason we can give you a full refund (minus the transaction fee) if we're able to fill your spot. If the cancellation is more than two weeks before the start date of the camp and we are unable to fill your spot, we can give you a 50% credit for a future class or camp. If the cancellation occurs less than two weeks before the start date of the camp and we are unable to fill your spot, we are unable to give a refund.
