After School Care Riccarton

| Hello, my name is Grace! I am currently a fifth year Law student at the University of Canterbury seeking part-time employment with children (university is online so available at all times). Since the age of 14 I have babysat for many families with children of all ages. Throughout University I have had two permanent nanny roles looking after children after school and in the school holidays (unfortunately the family I have recently been working with no longer need me as a result of COVID-19). During the University summer holidays I also relieved at several pre-schools arranged through Pre-school Staffing Solutions. I am passionate and enthusiastic about looking after children. My previous experience has allowed me to develop a firm but fun approach to child care. I am energetic and love watching children grow and develop. I am a proactive and diligent worker and my referees can confirm I am highly reliable. I will always give my best and am more than happy to put in any extra work required including cooking and cleaning.

| I spent last year (2018) working at an after school care and holiday programme. This including caring for the well-being of 45-60 kids a day with the help of my colleagues. This included providing them with afternoon tea and lunches, organising activities and games for them, and caring for their well-being/ saftey. I am certified in first-aid and have lots of activities up my sleeve from the daily challenge if entertaining 50 kids at once.

| I have plenty experience babysitting and also work in before/after school care and holiday programmes for primary school aged children. I have babysat children from ages 1 up. I can provide references.

| I hold a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and I am currently working in a preschool. I have taught in early childhood education for 5 years. I worked on a summer camp in USA teaching children to water ski. I have baby sat children for about 7 years now. I also worked in OSCAR - an after school care programme for 3 years.

My role consists of breakfast and school lunch prep, assisting with personal cares, sometimes dropping off at school, school pickups, shopping, taking to after school activities, household chores, meal prep, cooking, assisting with homework and playing games with the girls. I enjoying having fun. I thoroughly enjoy my job. Prior to Nannying, I have worked in aged care for 25 years, which I absolutely loved too. I feel I am an honest, reliable and empathetic person, who can tackle any challenge which may arise.

No matter what was happening outside of work, looking after these kids always put a smile on my face. After working in Administration for a few years, I miss the joy that I got nurturing children. So I’m looking for a new job back in the childcare sector.

| have young family members and a nephew who I have looked after and am equipped to provide full child caring services. I personally had a full time nanny for 11 years from when I was an infant and subsequent caregivers who helped with after school care and learning. I found this help invaluable and I know I can provide the same.

| I have been babysitting family and children since I was about 15, so plenty of experience! I have nieces, nephews and young cousins so I have experience caring for them, changing nappies and feeding young ones. I have my own car and a full licence so taking kids to school and picking up is i problem, as well as taking them to after school activities.
