Special Needs Care in North Vancouver

| I have experience with children 0-14 some who are neurodiverse. I have not had the privlidge to work along side anyone who is neurodiverse and learn their Care plans but i am a fast learner. Even though i have some knowledge i know each childs needs will be different and unique and i want to be apart of a more understanding world.

I have over 6 years of experience working with young children (under 5 years old) with special needs in a variety of licensed child care settings. I have worked with children with autism, FASD, behavioural challenges and Down Syndrome. I obtained my Early Childhood Education, Special Needs Certificate from Capilano University. I am passionate about working with young children and promoting inclusion because I believe that all children are different in their own way and we need to accept, honour and value these differences.

| I hold 7 years of diverse, professional experience caring for neurodivergent children and youth ages 5-18 as an ECE school program supervisor, specialized camp counsellor, and residential care worker. I am accustomed to managing all forms of challenging behaviour (verbal/physical altercations, threats) in a de-escalatory, non-intrusive manner informed by the principles of CPI (Crisis Prevention/Intervention), TCI (trauma informed care), and pro-social relationship building. | Hi! I'm a current third year nursing student who is returning home to North Van for the summer (end of April 2023 to end of August 2023) and looking for work as a nanny! I love getting to take care of kiddos, and had such a blast doing just that last summer. I have a clean record check with vulnerable sector screening, extensive CPR training (nursing!), and experience caring for children of all ages in both home settings and hospital/clinical settings. I've also taken theory classes related to child development and child care as part of my nursing degree.
