I have had a few different experiences caring and working with children in many different fields, including elementary school jk-gr 5, a parent child centre as well as privately owned day care centres. My role consisted primarily of preparing daily crafts/activities that related to specific areas of development and age. Also to provide emotional support and guidance to the children under my care. Since I was young I always enjoyed taking care of children. I was lucky enough to be given an opportunity to experience child care after my aunt had her first and second child and I worked for her as a live in nanny for two summers. This inspired my decision to attend college and receive my diploma in early childhood education and then go on to receive my university degree in leadership in early childhood education. Seeing the growth and development of a child always amazes me, particularly because it is so heavily influenced by the people and experiences in their life. This is why I strongly believe that anyone who works with children has to be able to provide them with the correct environment, not just to support their academic growth but also their social, emotional and physical growth.
